Read about our version of EGEE LCG-API GridwiseTech enables its clients access to huge EGEE grid spreading across Europe The popularity of Grid computing has sparked new demands for customized solutions which prove uncomplicated to access. The demand for Grid portals to access thousands of computer servers spread around Europe initiated a new challenge in August 2005 for GridwiseTech. GridwiseTech did thorough research in an attempt to find technologies filling the niche which existed in the market at the time. This resulted in choosing the best technologies and augmenting them with advanced features to provide the ultimate and complete solution. For several years GridwiseTech has been finding solutions focused on integrating technologies and providing market readiness to existing technologies. The vendor-independent company complies with all technology, GridSphere being one of them. EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-science in Europe) project, is the first Grid system deployed in the production environment on a worldwide scale. EGEE currently deploys the LCG-2 software distribution that originated from the LCG (LHC Computing Grid) project. The EGEE project consists of experts from over 27 countries with the united objective of strengthening recent advances in Grid technology and developing a service Grid infrastructure which is available to scientists nonstop. In this way researchers in academia and industry are able to access vast computing resources, regardless of where they are. The EGEE Partners include people and institutions using the Grid or providing a computational resource to it. CERN (European Organization for Particle Physics), one of the hugest physics laboratories in the world, is responsible for the overall project management for the EGEE. The EGEE is presently working on gLite (the next generation of the LCG-2 distribution). GridwiseTech is closely following upon these developments and is further developing its Java API for both the LCG and gLite solutions. In this project we are cooperating with several academic institutions. Two of them being Cyfronet (The Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET AGH in Cracow, Poland) and SZTAKI. Cyfronet, established over 30 years ago, is an autonomous organizational and financial entity of the AGH University of Science and Technology. Cyfronet and SZTAKI are part of the EGEE’s virtual organization of Central Europe, VOCE. VOCE has made resources available externally. The new solution has been welcomed by our clients and has gained us worldly acclaim. This project was used to develop a commercial solution initially for the corporate customer. Parties interested in commercial use should contact GridwiseTech. |
