The EGEE Grid interconnects 30,000 CPUs and some 15 Petabytes of storage, distributed among 195 data centers, mainly in Europe. Built on LCG/gLite Grid middleware, it is said to be the first Grid production system deployed worldwide, so far serving mostly researchers.
GridwiseTech, the independent expert in Grid technology succeeded in connecting the first large industrial customer to the EGEE Grid infrastructure. The developed integration could easily serve other industrial customers. The announcement will be made at the EGEE conference in Geneva, Switzerland. Don’t miss our presentation entitled “connecting large industry to EGEE Grid” – we will present in the business track, on Tuesday, 26 September 2006 afternoon.
