On data security in KrakowMonday, 12 April 2010Personal details, financial figures, access codes, production data, operational procedures - all these data demand careful treatment. How can enterprises operate on sensitive information securely in distributed and decentralized infrastructures? GridwiseTech addressed this question during the SEConference in Krakow, Poland. When integrating diverse data types or dissimilar infrastructures, ensuring proper security levels is a key concern. Especially if you need to set up a system that stretches over distant geographical locations and involves various access policies. It usually ends with organizations accepting limited functionality for the sake of secure data sharing. At the SEConference, GridwiseTech consultant Jaroslaw Marek presented a way to overcome this problem. “We have designed a solution based on the federated security model, combined with a single sign-on system. It allows total control over resources you have, without functional limitations. It also protects against unauthorized access,” he explained. GridwiseTech also presented AdHoc, a tool developed atop this concept. It simplifies sharing of distributed resources: data, applications and machines. AdHoc comes with an intuitive graphical interface that reduces the need for administrators’ intervention when managing assets. The SEConference took place on 9th and 10th of April, 2010 at the Cracow University of Technology and gathered world-class specialists in the security domain.
