GridwiseTech advises Oil & Gas giant

Geoscience Research Centre (GRC), division of Total Group, is a recent customer of GridwiseTech. The company requested assistance in evaluating cluster middleware that would enhance their IT infrastructure.

GRC, located in Aberdeen, Scotland, plays an important role in research and development for Total Exploration and Production worldwide. Their engineers use seismic, geo-models and reservoir simulation models to improve their knowledge of how petroleum reservoirs behave during production. To process the large amounts of data these activities generate, they needed to improve their IT system’s efficiency.

The challenge was to evaluate available workload management systems. GridwiseTech conducted a feasibility study and delivered a report recommending the middleware architecture to meet GRC’s needs.
