Strategic approach to IT scalability |

 The article presents a strategic approach to IT scalability explaining what is
scalability and why the strategic problems will become more severe. Author
also describes how the scalability problems can be approached in an organized
form and gives a few examples of how that strategy can be implemented by the
companies from different sectors.

issues before they occur, and provide a remedy
beforehand? Our vision is limited to the age we live in,
and thus, today’s best answer may not be optimal in

 In 2006 a large manufacturer of electronics considered to outsource their processing to their partner in the EGEE ecosystem, currently the world’s largest partner grid.
GridwiseTech, the vendor technology advisor was playing the major role in the project, integrating the research pilot.
Apart from their independent consulting services, the company also provides a software solution allowing push jobs from corporate resources to the grid middleware of EGEE. This presentation given at the OGF/EGEE User Forum conference in Manchester explains strategies for scaling processing capabilities to cut processing costs, including hooking up to external resources.
