Grid Security

What it means: Grid security refers to technologies for securing academic Grid systems. This includes identity management, access control, date protection and transfer protection. The term often implies usage of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) patterns where uses identify themselves with certificates issued by a Certificate Authority. A well-known implementation is GSI from Globus. An alternative approach involves a federated authentication paradigm, in which users identify themselves using tokens issued by their home institution. An example implementation is the Internet 2 "Shibboleth" system.

How we can help: We have long experience with various implementations of both paradigms, thanks to our long-running Grid computing experience. Comprehensive consulting and technical assistance is available.
