Virtual Organizations

What it means:
Virtual Organizations (VO) are a security model, where people, resources and services from different physical organizations are collected in one trusted cooperative group. The identity of each member of a VO is guaranteed by their originating organization. Membership is dynamic, so, by their very nature, VOs allow rapidly established teams to work together on a given problem and produce results quickly. After a VO is disbanded, all access rights are revoked and valuable resources remain owned by their original organizations. This model is the foundation of modern Grid infrastructures.
