Dr. Wolfgang Gentzsch is the Head of the German D-Grid Initiative and former Managing Director of MCNC Grid Computing and Networking Services in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA. Prior to joining MCNC, he was senior director of Grid computing for Sun Microsystems, responsible for Suns Grid computing vision, strategy, and technology development.

In the past three years, we worked with GridwiseTech together on several projects. We built the North Carolina Grid testbed, trained our North Carolina community in grid computing, integrated Sun Grid Engine resource management with the Globus Toolkit, and developed the prototype grid infrastructure for a digital science laboratory grid for schools. In all these projects, it was fun working with the GridwiseTech experts, who were very responsive to our unique and even changing requirements and always delivered the perfect result in time.
